Ariana fled the Shroud in the days before the Calamity to Gridania with her mother and sisters. The sight of the moon falling onto the earth below was forever seared into her memory. For days after, she and her sisters were ordered to stay in an inn room while their mother worked tirelessly in the aftermath. Their father rushed home from abroad once he heard the news and tragedy that befell Eorzea, and held his daughters tightly seeing them all safe. For years to come, their father wished for them to leave the city and experience the Eorzea he knew he never could now that it was forever changed.In Gridania, Ariana learned Astromancy from a fellow miqo'te who wished for the young girl to not face the same hardships he did, and he became an older brother of sorts. The healer wrote her name as Ariana rather than its original spelling, A'reyana, with the hope she will not be overlooked as a miqo'te in the city that had grown to loathe outsiders more with each passing day. Ariana was an apprentice of the healer’s for years until she decided to become an adventurer after he told her of his travels before the Calamity. Lots had changed since that fateful day and with tales of recovery and resilience, Ariana set out to chronicle the tales of the everyday lives affected by Dalamud's fall.Determined to make and save gil to live on her own and continue her work, she left Gridania to find work in the bustling markets of Limsa Lominsa. Day in and day out, the miqo'te worked in various places around the city, assisting the culinarian’s guild while enjoying the quiet life that would soon turn into anything but.Ariana eventually left the seaside city with a journal and pen in hand. Nowadays, she travels far and wide living day to day rather than seeking a grand adventure for herself. She enjoys her downtime and often meets fellow adventurers looking for companions. Always ready to join any group if it means she gets gil, the thrill of the unknown, or a story unfolding before her very eyes. However, beware of the kindness that hides the merciless seeker.
